gorchakovski3 January 2020 is a centenary year of birth of the outstanding Ural botanist, academician Pavel Gorchakovskii. The III National Scientific Conference with international participation "Information Technologies in Biodiversity Research" is dedicated to this date, which will be held in the Ural Federal University, Yekaterinburg, Russia. The purpose of the Conference is to discuss and share the experience in biodiversity informatics technologies for research and analysis of biodiversity.

Our Organizing Committee received about 200 applications. The Preliminary Conference Programme will be formed based on submitted abstracts and will be available online shortly after the abstract submission deadline. We encourage all applicants to confirm their in-person participation by 31 March 2020 via personal account in the Conference system. Please note that the final Conference Programme will include only confirmed participants.

THE CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE SESSIONS ON THE FOLLOWING FIELDS

❖ Biodiversity data mobilization in Russia: databases and information systems development experience
❖ Digitization of Russian natural history collections: current state and prospects
❖ Biodiversity of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and methods of their analyses
❖ GIS technologies application and remote sensing data use for biodiversity research.

The post-conference workshops are planned on data publishing in GBIF and data analyses. The final topics will be available from December 15 on the Conference website.

 CONFERENCE ABSTRACTS

Abstract submission is open from December 15, 2019 till February 15, 2020. Late abstract submissions will not be accepted, as we will need to prepare Conference. Abstracts will be submitted through your personal account in the Conference system, please refer to the template.

In-person participants will have the additional opportunity to publish extended abstracts in ARPHA Proceedings (ISSN 2683-0183) by PENSOFT. The publication fee is about 50 euros (not covered by the Regular registration fee). The author guidelines are available on by following the link: https://ap.pensoft.net/about#AuthorGuidelines.

 REGISTRATION FEE

The regular registration fee is 1,500 rubles. Please be prepared to pay upon arrival at the Conference in cash. The regular registration fee covers attendance to the scientific sessions, coffee breaks, and abstract publishing.

Purchases to participate in ice-breaking session, field trip and extended abstracts publishing via PENSOFT will be made on-site.

 VENUE

Registration, plenary, and conference sessions will be held at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (Ekaterinburg, Kuybysheva str., 48) of the Ural Federal University. The conference site is within easy walking distance of public transportation routes accessible by many local hotels.

The final Conference Programme, and practical information will be sent in the Third Call.
